CIGA Design Blue Planet II Gold | 24K-Gilded Earth | Black Ceramic Watch

CIGA Design's Blue Planet II Gold transforms the Earth into the centrepiece of contemporary watchmaking. Its sculptural dial features CNC-engraved terrain gilded in 24K gold, creating a dramatic three-dimensional map whose ridges, coastlines and continents emerge against a deep black background.

The design carries forward the creative language of CIGA Design's Blue Planet, winner of the Challenge Watch Prize at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) in 2021. Rather than using a conventional pair of hands, the watch approaches time display through CIGA Design's distinctive planetary concept.

At its heart is the Swiss-made CD-04-S caliber, powering the Asynchronous-Follow display. Hours and minutes are brought together at a single reference point, integrating the reading of time into the circular architecture surrounding the Earth.

The dial's topography is produced through precise CNC engraving before being gilded in 24K gold, emphasizing geographical relief and creating changing highlights as the watch moves on the wrist.

A refined black ceramic case provides a minimalist contrast to the gilded dial. Its smooth, lugless profile is perfected over more than 200 hours of processing, resulting in a silky surface and streamlined appearance.

Above the dial, a domed sapphire crystal provides clarity while enhancing the visual depth of the sculptural Earth beneath it.

Both the 43mm and 46mm editions are paired with a ceramic bracelet. The 46mm edition also includes a black fluororubber strap, providing an alternative, sportier way to wear the piece.

GPHG-Winning Lineage

The Blue Planet collection follows CIGA Design's award-winning approach to unconventional watchmaking. The original Blue Planet received the Challenge Watch Prize at the 2021 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, one of the international watch industry's prominent annual awards.
