About Mikimoto
It was in 1893 that Kokichi Mikimoto produced the first cultured pearl, working the oyster beds at Ago Bay. The Akoya pearls used here are the direct descendants of that first harvest — the same species, the same coastline, the same patient method that made the cultured pearl a possibility at all.
