The Perpetual Calendar GMT is the most complex piece Gérald Genta's own atelier ever fitted into a single case: a perpetual calendar that tracks day, month and leap-year cycle without manual correction; a GMT second time zone read against a 24-hour internal rotating bezel; a central retrograde date that snaps back at the end of every month; and the whole construction held in a 45mm round case of platinum 950 paired with titanium (reference AQG.Y.87.129.CM.BD). The dial is blue, openworked, with red accents on the hands. Genta (1931–2011) had drawn the Royal Oak in 1972 and the Nautilus in 1976 for houses that gave him quartz-crisis briefs; the atelier he founded in Geneva in 1969 is where he eventually built the perpetual-calendar work the corporate watchmakers would not let him sign. 10 ATM. Authenticated at Almaz Vienna.
