The Gefica name belongs to one of Gérald Genta's most idiosyncratic inventions — a bronze big-game safari watch that he and three hunting friends drew up for African expeditions — but the line also extended into the dress-watch territory you have on the wrist here: a 33mm yellow-gold case, 8mm thin, sapphire crystal protecting a mother-of-pearl dial unmarked by numerals. Reference G3687 pairs to the production books of the atelier Genta (1931–2011) founded in Geneva in 1969, a workshop he ran with the same instinct for round-architecture refusals he had brought to the Royal Oak (1972, octagonal for Audemars Piguet) and the Nautilus (1976, porthole for Patek Philippe). The matching yellow-gold bracelet closes with a folding clasp. Automatic, date function, original parts. Authenticated at Almaz Vienna.
