Where the Retro and Octo lines spend Gérald Genta's atelier on retrograde complications and octagonal architecture, the Chrono Sport is the deliberate counterweight — a 42×40mm cushion-rectangular steel case, black dial, Arabic numerals, automatic chronograph movement, and a black rubber strap that reads more as nineties Geneva than as Place Vendôme. Reference CH8.X.10 belongs to the active-luxury production the atelier built under the founder's signature, before the Bulgari acquisition of 2000 closed the independent era. Genta (1931–2011) had drawn the Royal Oak in 1972 and the Nautilus in 1976 for other houses; his own brand, founded in 1969, allowed him to build a chronograph that takes from neither, with a side-mounted crown and lug profile that read as his alone.
