Carrera y Carrera "Gárgola Tear" necklace from the Vitral collection, in 18-karat yellow gold with diamonds and citrine quartz. Vitral takes its name and visual logic from the stained-glass windows of Spain's great cathedrals: geometric panels of coloured stone framed by gold lead-lines that recall the leaded camework of Toledo or Sevilla. Gárgola — gargoyle in Spanish — reads the architectural reference back into the gold itself.
